Tajudeen Abbas on Tuesday emerged the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the 10th National Assembly.
Abbas, a lawmaker representing Zaria Federal Constituency was elected in an openly declare ballot system where he defeated other contenders – Ahmed Wase and Sani Jaji, who polled three votes each.
Abbas rode on the presidential goodwill and support from the state governors to emerge the new Speaker.
