The French Republic and Kano State government on Friday began talks on bilateral projects that will have sustainable development impact on job creation and boosting the state’s economy.
These projects, according to the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Emmanuelle Blatmann, include the Urban Water Supply project, Urban Mobility Project, Energy Grid projects, Projects on Higher Education, Mass Transportation project, and request for Rehabilitation/Revival of Kano French Culture Centre, Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project among others.
This was disclosed during a meeting with the French Ambassador to the State Government House.
The State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by his Deputy, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to enhance the existing diplomatic relationship between Kano State and the French Republic.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shaibu quoted Gwarzo as saying that the establishment of French-speaking secondary schools by Sen. Kwankwaso in Madobi town is a reflection of good ties between French and Kano governments.
