Uba Sani reduces fee for Kaduna owned institutions

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani on Monday announced that his government has approved a downward review of schools fees for the state owned tertiary institutions.

Sani, in a statement, said the review was in response to the public outcry over the current fees being charged by the tertiary institutions and its effect on school enrolment and retention.

He said Kaduna State University fee has been reduced to N105,000 from N150,000 as the students of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic would pay N50,000 against N100,000 charged earlier.

Further, the Governor said the students of College of Education, Gidan Waya, will pay N37,500 reviewed from N75,000 while school fee of Shehu Idris College of Health Science and Technology, Makarki has been reduced to N70,000 from N100,000.

National and Higher National Diploma students will now pay N52,000 and N70,000 respectively.

The students of Kaduna State College of Nursing will N70,000 as against N100,000 billed.

”This downward review of the extant fees regime aligns with our commitment to offer palliatives to cushion the effect of general rising cost of living in the polity, especially in the wake of recent petroleum subsidy removal in Nigeria,” Sani said.
