The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate for 2023 election in Kano, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sympathized with the traders in Singer Market, over recent fire outbreak that claimed goods and shops worth millions of Naira.
Engr. Abba, in a statement signed on Tuesday by the Chief Spokesperson of the NNPP Campaign Council, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, admonished the leadership of the Kano’s popular commodity market and members to accept the recent loss as a test from Allah, praying against reoccurrence of fire incidence.
The NNPP gubernatorial candidate said, the fire which is the third incident within two months in major markets in the state, is yet another pointer to the urgent need for deliberate effective measures by Kano State government and traders towards finding lasting solution to the incessant fire outbreak.
He called on Kano State Fire Service to double efforts at sensitising and educating marketers on major causes of fire and measures needed to be taken to curb the outbreak.
He said, if elected the governor come March 18, Kano State government under his leadership will be committed to improving infrastructure in the major markets as well as empowering small and medium enterprises with capitals as part of the efforts to fighting poverty and youth joblessness in Kano.
He noted that his Blueprint has already captured how the NNPP government will work with the traders to identify and deal with major challenges facing the markets and bringing to reality the aspirations of every marketers in Kano.
