Atiku fumes as U.S. approves Tinubu’s election victory

The 2023 presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday angered by the United States’ recognition of the election victory of president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

DAILY COMMERCE Nigeria, reports that United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, made a phone call to the president-elect Tinubu on Wednesday to convey U.S President Joe Bidin’s commitment to work with the incoming administration towards deepening democracy and address critical issues of undervelopment in Africa.

DAILY COMMERCE recalled that Atiku, is currently making cases againt the victory of Tinubu before the 2023 election Tribunal, rejecting the results.

In a post on his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, Atiku chided Antony Blinken for the phone conversation with Tinubu, saying that his action contradicted the position of the United States as to the conduct of the 2023 general elections.

“I am in disbelief that @SecBlinken called Tinubu, a contradiction to the publicly stated position of the US on Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election. This is inconceivable considering that America, as the bastion of democracy, is well briefed on the sham (sic) election of February 25.

”To give legitimacy to the widely acknowledged fraudulent election in Nigeria can be demoralizing to citizens who have hedged their bet on democracy and the sanctity of the ballot.
