The Department of State Services, DSS, on Saturday confirmed the arrest of Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
A statement by Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of the Service, said Emefiele ”is now in its custody for some investigative reasons”.
further, the DSS warned that, ”The public, particularly the Media, is enjoined to apply utmost caution in the reportage and narratives concerning this”.
DAILY COMMERCE reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday suspended the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, from office with immediate effect.
This followed the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy, a statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Federation, said.
