
Kaduna State government has recruited 7,000 youths into the Kaduna Vigilance Service, the state-funded vigilante group, to complement the efforts of the military and other security agencies towards curbing insecurity in the state.
The State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, made the disclosure on Saturday during the official flagged -off of the commencement of training of the newly recruited youths into the vigilante group.
He said the initiative is ”…to strengthen the Kaduna Vigilance Service to assist the police and other security agencies in the state in combating crime”.
Kaduna and other Northwestern states has suffered persistent killings and kidnapping of the the citizens by insurgents despite huge annual budgetary allocations to the security sector.
