The Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday has approved the sum of N437.358 billion budget for the year 2024.
Recall that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had earlier presented N350bn budget to the Assembly on Friday, October 27, promising to block leakages and ensuring transparency and accountability in government businesses.
Speaker of the Assembly, Jubril Ismail Falgore, said the budget was increased to N437.3bn before its passage to take care of the needs of the people.
Falgore said 64 per cent of the budget is earmarked for capital projects while 38 per cent is for recurrent expenditures.
The assembly had conducted public hearing last week to get inputs from other stakeholders on the budget after the 44 local government council chairmen appeared before the lawmakers for budget defence.
