Kano State Governor, Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, has described the passing of Leadership Newspaper’s correspondent in the State, Abdullahi Yakubu, as significant loss, praying Allah to forgive his departed soul.
Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, disclosed this in a statement copied on Saturday to DAILY COMMERCE.
In the same vein, the Association of Kano Online Journalists, ASKOJ, has commisirated with the family of Yakubu, describing him as a gentleman of the media, whose contribution to journalism will always be remembered by the people of Kano.
”His lost is a hard one not only to his immediate family and friends, but also, to the journalist’s community and state at large,” Chairman of ASKOJ, Salisu Yakubu, said in a condolence message to newsmen on Saturday.
Further, the journalists said the deceased Yakubu was a man who believed in justice and always carried others along when he had the chance.
”He will be missed greatly,” ASKOJ regrets.
