Barely 48 hours after the swearing-in of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf as the executive State Governor of Kano state, major streets in the metropolis have been light up after eight years of blackout as the lamps were switched off by the immediate past administration.
The return of street lights is part of the efforts by the new administration to tackle armed robbery, phone snatching and other criminal activities bedeviling the State especially the metropolitan Kano.
The on-going exercise started penultimate Tuesday and will continue until every part of the State is saved from darkness that provides cover for criminal including political thugs used and dumped by the immediate past administration.
Recall that Governor Abba has approved the formation of a Special Joint Task Force to Prevent Phone Snatching and other Street Crimes that composed of teams of law enforcement agencies and mobile courts that would work together to clear our streets of these criminals and bring all of them to justice swiftly.
