Quick response centre back in Kano to tackle insecurity
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has re-established a quick response centre across the state as part of the measures to checkmate menace of phone snatching and other crimes.
The Governor recalled that first security Communication center was established by the administration of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso but was abondoned and facility vandalized in the immediate-past administration.
“The centre was established to serve as a Quick Response Centre ( QRC)that was designed and equipped with modern Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)cameras and manned by various security personnel and it was covering ten identified locations in the metropolis.
The Governor made this known today at Sani Abacha Stadium during a hangout event with 222 repentant thugs organized by Kano State Police Command in collaboration with Aminu Garba Magashi (AMG) Foundation, a statement from the chief press secretary to the Governor, Sanusi Bature said.
According the Governor: “There is no gainsaying the fact that abondement of this very facility contributed largely to the rising spate of phone Snatching and other violent crimes that took the tolls on our streets become we came in on May 29, 2023.”
He added that plans have been made for the repentants’ empowerment through skills acquisition and education and for those willing to further their education, will enjoy scholarship and sponsorship from the government and those who want acquire skills or go to legitimate businesses, would receive the full support of the State government.
