Subsidy: Labour begins nationwide strike on Wednesday

The Nigeria Labour Congress has directed members nationwide to shut offices Wednesday over removal of fuel subsidy.

The strike will be embarked upon if the government fails to reverse the new pump price for Premium Motor Spirit.

The national president of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, made this known during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday.

This comes amid fuel shortages across the country occasioned by President Bola Tinubu’s inaugural speech, in which he declared that “fuel subsidy is gone”.

The NLC also noted that it would no longer negotiate with individuals without portfolios.
