Tinubu arrives Abuja after visits to France, South Africa

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a state visit to France and Cape Town in South Africa.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga revealed this in a statement in the early hours of Thursday.

According to the statement, President Tinubu arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at around 9:10 PM from Cape Town, South Africa where he attended the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC).

He was welcomed by several officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Other attendees included Abdullahi Ganduje, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peter Opara, the Commissioner of Police for the FCT.

During his visit to France, President Tinubu and French President Emmanuel Macron participated in the Nigeria-France Business Council meeting held at the Élysée Palace. This high-level event underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthen their economic ties. Similarly, in South Africa, the 11th session of the BNC involved discussions across eight working groups, each focusing on a specific area of mutual interest.

At the high-level meeting, officials from both countries signed several Memoranda of Understanding.
