World Bank commits N2.4bn to developing three Kano technical schools

The World Bank has committed N2.4 billion to developing Technical Schools at Bagauda, Dambatta and Ungoggo in Kano State.

A statement by Sanusi Bature, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Monday said that each of the three technical schools will receive N800 million in the Bank’s intervention titled Innovation Development Effectiveness in Skills Acquisition, IDEAS.

The statement added that IDEAS project committed N200 million to general renovation, procurement of equipment and training of teachers.

He said: ”The Governor commended the efforts of a World Bank Project titled Innovation Development Effectiveness in Skills Acquisition (IDEAS) which committed two hundred and forty million naira for general renovation, procurement of equipment and teacher training for the three major Technical Schools at Bagauda, Dambatta and Ungoggo where each is expected to receive 800 million naira through the IDEAS Project.”

The Governor was quoted as saying, “We are determined to achieve our job creation agenda through Technical and Vocational Education”.
